Forschung und Innovation sind die Triebfeder für den digitalen Vorsprung unserer Kunden. Deshalb unterstützen das XITASO-Forschungsteam und die Research & Innovation Community unsere Delivery-Teams dabei, den State of the Art nicht nur zu verstehen, sondern zu verschieben.

In dem Forschungsprojekt ENGEL entwickeln wir ein komplexes Assistenzsystem für Piloten von Rettungshubschraubern, um effizient Landeplätze zu identifizieren und anzufliegen. Da in diesem System viele Softwarekomponenten zusammenspielen und in der Luftfahrt sehr strenge Auflagen für Software vorhanden sind, ist eine hohe Robustheit besonders wichtig. Als XITASO erhöhen wir die Robustheit der Software und das Vertrauen der Helikoptercrew in das System, indem wir

die Softwarekomponenten der Projektpartner in dem Robot Operating System (ROS) integrieren,
das System in einer CI/CD Pipeline auf verschiedensten Ebenen testen,
zur Laufzeit das System überwachen und Anpassungen vornehmen falls die Notwendigkeit dafür besteht und
Anpassungen und der Grund für ihre Notwendigkeit der Crew erklärbar machen.

Diese Aufgaben interessieren Dich

Weiterentwicklung und Implementierung von bestehenden Ansätzen für selbst-adaptive ROS-Systeme.
Automatisiertes Testen von ROS-Systemen in einer DevOps Pipeline in GitLab (Unit-Tests bis Integrationstests).
Entwicklung und Implementierung von Algorithmen, die unser ROS-System erklärbar machen.

Das zeichnet Dich aus

Du absolvierst einen Studiengang im Bereich Informatik, Mathematik, Robotik oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung an einer Universität oder Hochschule.
Du hast Erfahrung und Kenntnisse mit ROS, Python, C++. DevOps ist ein Plus aber nicht erforderlich.
Du bist neugierig, hast Lust in einem technologisch hochmodernen Umfeld mitzuwirken, und suchst nach einer Möglichkeit, dein Wissen aus dem Studium umzusetzen und zu vertiefen.
Du magst offene und ehrliche Kommunikation mit Kolleg*innen und Forschungspartnern, gibst konstruktive Kritik und nimmst Feedback an.
Deine Sprachkenntnisse machen es Dir möglich, deine Rolle in deutscher und englischer Sprache (jeweils B2-Niveau) auszuüben.

In the ENGEL research project, we are developing a complex assistance system for emergency helicopter pilots to efficiently identify and fly to landing sites. Since many software components interact in this system and there are very strict requirements for software in aviation, a high degree of robustness is particularly important. At XITASO, we increase the robustness of the software and the helicopter crew's confidence in the system by

integrating the project partners' software components into the Robot Operating System (ROS),
testing the system at various levels in a CI/CD pipeline,
monitoring the system during runtime and performing adaptations if necessary, and
explaining the adaptations and the reason for their necessity to the crew.

These tasks interest you

Further development of existing approaches for self-adaptive ROS systems.
Automated testing of ROS systems in a DevOps pipeline in GitLab (unit tests to integration tests).
Development and implementation of algorithms that make our ROS system explainable.

That makes you stand out

You are completing a degree in computer science, mathematics, robotics or a comparable subject at a university.
You have experience and knowledge of ROS, Python and C++. DevOps is a plus but not required.
You are creative and enjoy developing new solutions.
You are curious, want to work in a technologically advanced environment and are looking for an opportunity to apply and deepen the knowledge you have gained during your studies.
You enjoy open and honest communication with colleagues and research partners, offer constructive criticism and accept feedback.
Your language skills enable you to perform your role in German and English (both B2-level).
